Description

AGS 3514 is a water-carried all-weather long-term protection, formulated for most types of surfaces. Provides strong protection against spray paint, marker/felt-tip pens and mechanical damage. Protects against airborne pollution and moisture for a minimum of 5 years. Low melting point (60°C) and is suitable to apply on delicate surfaces such as: plaster, limestone, sandstone, etc. The low melting point makes the time spent on wash off significantly less. Permeable and allows protected surface to breathe. Correctly applied, life expectancy against graffiti is approximately 5 years. A so called sacrificial coating, which means that surface must be re-protected, following graffiti removal. Easily biodegradable.

Application instructions

Preparation
Clean off both graffiti and other contamination, such as traffic dirt, wax, oil and paint-residue etc. from substrate. Ensure that the pH value does not exceed 9-10. Mask and protect windows in a suitable manner. Ideal temperature for external application should be between 10-35°C. Minimum temperature is +5°C. Relative humidity must not exceed 95%. Note! Fresh concrete has to cure for at least 28 days before protection. Painted surfaces to be protected are allowed to cure for 1-4 weeks depending on colour type.

Protection
Shake or stir product well prior to use. AGS 3514 may be applied with a low-pressure sprayer, roller or airless spray gun. The protection is applied 2-4 times depending on the surface and function. Note! Allow some drying between applications. AGS 3514 can be applied to a damp, not wet, surface. Runs and/or excessive application can easily be washed off with water, following completion of work.

Exterior graffiti removal
Method 1 – Normal porous substrate
Remove graffiti with hot water and high-pressure (60-90°C & 90-150 bar/ 1300-2175 PSI) or adjust temperature and pressure to the surface. Re-protect cleaned area with 2 layers.

Method 2 – Sensitive substrate
Apply AGS 3505 or AGS 5 SR with a low-pressure sprayer. Allow a few minutes for the solvent remover to act and then rinse off with hot water (50-60°C & 40-150 bar/870-1160 PSI). The method is most suitable when substrate is brittle. Any graffiti left on the surface can be removed with AGS 3505 on a cloth. The cleaned area should be neutralised with water. Re-protect cleaned area with 2 – 4 layers.

Dosage
Use in concentrated form.

Consumption
Varies depending upon type of surface material. Its porosity and capillary ability etc.

Guidelines

  • Concrete, brick or similar, a total for 3 layers will be 0,25-0,3 ltr/m².
  • Sandstone, plaster or other soft absorbent surfaces, a total for 3-4 layers will be 0,3-0,4 ltr/m².

Drying-period
The protected surface will be water- and graffiti-resistant after 2 hours and dry after 4 hours. Ultimate protective effect will be achieved after 72 hours.

Appearance on the surface
Whitish appearance when wet, transparent more or less invisible when dry. Some surfaces may obtain enhanced gloss and darker shade.

Storage
Store frost-free in closed original container.

Shelf life
Approximately 12 months in unopened container.

Precautions
Use protective clothing and gloves.
